LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- On Thursday night the family and friends of Rebecca Rankins gathered to remember the woman who was murdered in her Shively home two years ago.

Rankins daughter, Reanna, came home on November 8, 2011 to find her mother’s body stabbed, strangled and lifeless on the bedroom floor.

“I don’t think there’s a pain much deeper than losing your mom,” she said.

Their loss is compounded by the lack of justice in the case.  To date, no arrests have been made, no convictions and they all still believe the killer is someone who knew her well.
