(WHAS11) -- A lawsuit in California apparently claims that frozen pizza could be causing cancer.

The $5 million class action lawsuit claims there is a toxic carcinogen in the cheese for brands like DiGiorno, Stouffers and California Pizza Kitchen.

Nestle produces all three of those brands.

The suit claims the company is placing profits over public health by not removing trans fats from their pizzas.

Several cities have banned trans fats from restaurants but not in packaged foods.

The FDA requires companies to list all of the ingredients on the label and Nestle says they do just that and are in compliance.
