LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Could a certain brand of bourbon be caught in the cross hairs with renewed tensions between the United States and Russia?
On Monday the Russian consumer rights agency posted a notice on their website saying Kentucky Gentlemen Bourbon did not pass customs standards.
According to the site, traces of potentially toxic chemicals were found in Kentucky Gentleman which is produced in Bardstown by Barton Brands.
The company tells WHAS they have not yet been contacted by Russia. However, according to the site, Russia is preparing to add Kentucky Gentleman to a list of banned imports.
Russia has recently banned other products from countries that have spoken out against them in their conflict with Ukraine.
