LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- We all remember our teenage years but were you a good teenager or trouble for your parents?

Or are you in the process of raising a teenager right now?!

So imagine being a mentor, a big sister to a young woman right as she's square in the middle of those critical years, age sixteen.

WHAS11’s Doug Proffitt has more on this big and little sister pair click on the video player above.

A new study by the national Big Brothers Big Sisters organization discovered that 94 percent of the young people enrolled in the program moved away from risky behaviors and 88 percent of the young people increased their trust in their parents.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you can call 1-877-588-2300 to get started as a mentor.
