LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- So the legend Jack Nicklaus, who of course designed Valhalla, set a course record of 66 after a historic moment in golf back in 1986.

Nicklaus was the record holder for 10 years until Russ Cochran broke it by one, scoring a 65 at Valhalla in 1996.

But the latest course record stands at 63, shot by Jose Maria Olazabal during the 2000 PGA Championship. An hour prior to Olazabal shooting 63, Tom Watson posted a 64.
