(WHAS11) -- Kentucky State Police have canceled an Amber Alert and their search for a 15-year-old Louisville Boy who was last seen Tuesday.
Police in Alabama say Josh Young and his father Josh Gouker were arrested in Birmingham Wednesday night on weapons charges.
Another adult with them was also arrested. The Amber Alert in Kentucky was issued at 6 p.m. Thursday, even though the two were in custody. Gouker is in a Birmingham jail, and Young is in a Birmingham detention center. Police have not yet confirmed why they did not know the two had already been arrested.
WHAS11 News spoke with neighbors who know both Gouker and Young. Walter Hudson said when he heard the 15-year-old had disappeared with his father, he was immediately concerned. Hudson's cousin, Amanda Campbell, is Gouker's wife. Hudson's son hung out with Young from time to time.
"The way I feel about it, he's about 14 or 15-years-old and his dad is trying to turn him into a little gangbanger," said Hudson.
Authorities issued the Amber Alert Thursday after Gouker missed two court appearances this week. He and his son were last seen around Algonquin Parkway Tuesday night. Gouker is also the stepfather of 14-year-old Trey Zwicker, whose body was found in a ditch behind Liberty High School in May.
No one has been charged in the case, but just this week in a Louisville Courtroom Campbell implicated Gouker in Zwicker's death. She said he was under suspicion for Trey's murder.
The coroner released the cause of death Thursday. The teenager died of multiple blunt force and sharp force injuries that came from an assault.
WHAS11 is still waiting to hear from police what the next step will be for Gouker.
