(WHAS11) -- The mother of Amanda Ross spoke to reporters in Frankfort Wednesday morning about her push to get legislation changed when it comes to emergency protective orders.
Ross is the ex- fiancé of Steve Nunn, a former Kentucky state representative, and was shot to death back in 2009. Nunn pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
Now her mother is pushing to change laws aimed at protecting those who are dating, not just those who are married.
Ross’s story is part of an ABC News special airing Wednesday night. ABC's Chris Cuomo talked with Renee Murphy about the special called “Revenge for Real.”
