LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The 8-year-old super speller from Louisville we first introduced you to in March is being featured in a national news program this weekend.

In fact, Tara Singh and Emily Keaton from Pikeville, Ky., who both competed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee are the focus of the program.

Tara was the youngest in the spelling bee in 2013.

"She's love symbology, it speaks to her sometimes when we go to museums we buy her hieroglyph books because she loves the symbology of languages, if there's anything Tara loves, it's language."

Tara attends Louisville Classical Academy and studies Greek and Latin and is learning German.   Her family says her intense love of language helped her make it to the bee at such an early age.

This was Emily Keaton’s last year to be eligible for the bee.

The American Journey website says the viewers will, quote "walk in their shoes as they prepare for the buzz-worthy bright light of the National Spelling Bee."

The program is hosted by Ty Pennington well-known for ABC's ‘Extreme Makeover Home Edition’ which helped build new homes for two Louisville families.

‘American Journey: Spelling Bee-Bound’ airs Sunday, June 23 at 1 p.m. on HLN.
