It would not be unusual to think the safest place for an animal to be is the zoo.
But in China’s Guangdong province, that’s apparently not true at all. Over the weekend, a man was visiting the province’s zoo when he apparently bit and killed an ostrich as part of a suicide attempt.
According to The Nanfang, the man slashed his wrists after police were called. The report says as he began to lose strength, the man laid on the ostrich’s corpse like a pillow before officers approached and dragged him away.
