SAN ANTONIO, Texas (KENS5)  -- A VIA Metropolitan Transit driver is out of a job after surveillance video revealed she was a little too aggressive and confrontational with a pair of passengers.

Surveillance video from the route 22 bus shows the driver calling a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old  girl back onto the bus shortly after they exited. Words were then exchanged between the teens and the driver, leading to a full-out brawl.

Another camera picked up the action as innocent bystanders step in to break up the rumble.

"The bus operators are trained not to get involved in situations that could lead to altercations," said VIA spokesperson, Priscilla Ingle. "The safety of our bus operators and customers is paramount to us."

According to company policy: "Passengers behaving in a destructive or threatening manner should be asked to stop the offending conduct or leave the vehicle. Situations that, in the operator's opinion, could lead to an altercation must not be pursued."

Company officials said the bus driver, who has not been identified, resigned during disciplinary procedures from the July 20 incident.

"Our bus-riding environment is safe," Ingle said. "This is just one of those situations that was unfortunate and something that was completely unexpected and we consider to be isolated."
