LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)- An overflow crowd jammed into the T.K. Stone Performing Arts Center Wednesday to honor the winner of the Excel Award and Teacher of the Year in the Elizabethtown Independent School system.
Thad Elmore teaches civics, history and coaches the football team at T.K. Stone Middle School.
Elmore found his calling by mentoring 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds and getting them ready for high school.
His principal says nobody represents the qualities of an excel teacher better than Thad Elmore.
