Previous Story: Local doctor agrees to be placed on probation after complaints of sexual misconduct

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A local doctor is under fire after alleged inappropriate behavior with his patients.

We all like to think we can trust our family doctor, after all, that’s who we depend on to protect our most valuable asset, our health.

But sometimes medical professionals breach that trust.

Watch this story

That’s what the Kentucky Board of Licensure says happened in the case of Dr. Jack Allen.

This week, he was placed under an amended order of probation by the board after another female patient came forward to complain about his bedside manner, bringing the total to six.

The woman, who wants to be called “Ellen”, says she went to Dr. Jack Allen to treat her asthma and back problems.

“He started feeling on my breasts and he started feeling on my legs and he started feeling on my private part,” she says.

But the state board of medical licensure says six women besides “Ellen” have come forward to make similar claims against Dr. Allen.

One woman says Dr. Allen told her quote “You’re heavy but that don’t mean you can’t spread your legs.”

Another patient, while discussing a pap smear, says Dr. Allen said quote “You wouldn’t want anything to happen to that monkey down there.”

And all of the complaints describe inappropriate touching combined with prescriptions of narcotics.

Ellen says Dr. Allen prescribed several high-powered painkillers, to which she quickly became addicted.

“He would tell me I couldn’t get my medicine unless he got to rub on me,” she says.

Two lawsuits filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court by former patients make similar claims.  One case has already been settled.

The patients referred to in the board of medical licensure complaint all were referred to Dr. Allen through the Passport Program, which runs the Medicaid program in metro Louisville.

Ellen was also referred to Dr. Allen under the program.

Allen has been placed on probation for five years and is required to have a chaperone with him at all times when he is with female patients.

When WHAS11’s Adam Walser went by Dr. Allen’s office today, his staff said he wasn’t there and couldn’t be reached for a comment.

Dr. Allen’s staff says Allen is still a participant in the Passport Program.

He’s apparently pretty busy too, since his staff says his first available appointment is not until late October.
