(WHAS11) - A man accused of killing his wife in their home near Pleasure Ridge Park was arraigned Wednesday morning on a murder charge.

A judge entered a plea of not guilty for 68-year-old William Seidl.

A spokesperson for the county attorney’s office says that 69-year-old Dorene Seidl asked for a domestic violence order which was denied by Judge Joseph O’Reilly on August 20th.

Wednesday Judge O’Reilly says his prayers are with the family, but he did not find the burden of proof that violence occurred, to issue an emergency order.

Seidl was found dead Monday inside her home after a standoff involving a SWAT TEAM and hostage negotiators.
