MAYTOWN, Ky. (AP) -- A new groom has been arrested on a charge of shooting and killing his bride of a week after what police describe as a domestic squabble.

Kentucky State Police say 26-year-old Joshua Mock shot his wife, 28-year-old Linda Mock just after 3 a.m. Thursday during a domestic dispute at their home in eastern Kentucky.

Trooper Mike Goble says no children were home at the time of the shooting, but at least one unidentified family member witnessed the incident.

Goble said Joshua Mock used a revolver to shoot Linda Mock in the neck. She died shortly after the shooting at Saint Joseph Hospital in Martin.

Goble said Joshua Mock was being held in the Floyd County Detention Center on Friday.
