From the stock market to the housing market, the economic stress continues.

In October the number of homeowners caught in foreclosure grew 25% nationally.

Here at home though, experts say the foreclosure crisis isn’t as bad as other states.

But still many Kentuckiana residents are having trouble selling their homes.

In a market where the word crisis seems couple with real estate, perhaps it’s time to buy a shovel, a statue of St. Joseph, and have a little faith.

That’s how many statues of St. Joseph are flying off the shelves every week at Tonini church Supply Company.  They are selling them locally and nationally in mass quantities.

St, Joseph already had a fan base but his popularity has gone up in spades for a reason you might not have thought about.

In addition to being a Saint, Joseph is also known for his house selling skills.  You can buy St. Joseph house selling kits at Tonini.

Stephanie Woerner just placed her St. Matthews home on the market and she is already planning to bury a St. Joseph statue in her yard.

At a time when foreclosures are on the rise, realtor Jan Scholtz says here in Louisville, it’s not as bad as it is nationally.  She blames the current crisis on low consumer confidence.

But for frantic home owners eager to sell, St. Joseph might be just the push their looking for in an unsteady market regardless of religion.

The statues range in price from just a few dollars to $25 dollars.
