Merchant fights with would-be robber
05:59 PM EST on Thursday, December 7, 2006
Debbie Summit says -- now that she’s thought about it -- she realizes that she never should have done it. After all, wrestling someone with a gun is generally a bad idea.
“She was standing right where you’re at with the gun pointed at me”.
Here on surveillance tape, you’ll see what Debbie didn’t: the female suspect entering the store from two different angles while Debbie was opening up in the back room.

After Debbie made a run for the door, she ended up in what she thought was a fight for her life.
“I turned around and we started scuffling,” she says.
The scuffle was caught on tape. Debbie gets what she later determines is a fake gun, the fight continues out the door, and the suspect then says, “OK, I’ll go now.”
“When I laid down that night I thought, ‘What in the crap was I thinking about?’”
Mt. Washington Police Detective Buddy Stump had the same question.
“Next time, it might not turn out so good,” he says.
Stump wants you to take another look at this video. He doesn’t have a suspect, but he does have a suspicion.
“That suspicion is probably going to lead me and that person to have a little talk here in the next day or two,” he says.
In the meantime, Debbie Summit continues to work, hopeful that Detective Stump makes an arrest before this face surfaces again.
“The gun was kind of in front of her face and the gun is what I seen”
Someone who matches the description of this suspect robbed this same liquor store in February. In February, they walked away with a whole lot of money.
Police are looking for a white female in her 40s. She's around 5'2" and about 200 pounds.
She was wearing a blue coat with tan sleeves from elbow to shoulder.
