Internet sting lands seven in jail

WARNING: Graphic language

06:17 PM EDT on Tuesday, October 10, 2006

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- We can show you how one of the busts went down and what was allegedly said online between the men arrested and an adult posing as a child.

These court records lay out a disturbing, graphic story of men looking for sex with kids.

Kentucky's attorney general hopes substitute teacher Steven Duncil helps others learn a tough lesson. Duncil is one of the men arrested this past weekend.

Court records show the 24-year-old sent a picture of his penis to someone posing as a 13-year-old girl. Those records show Duncil asked the decoy online, “Are you wearing panties?”

She said, “Yeah, of course.” He allegedly wrote back, “You should take them off.”

In another conversation, the decoy asked: “So u could teach me about sex?” Duncil allegedly wrote back, “Yeah, I’m hard right now.” She replied, “Wow.”

All the online chatting ended Friday when police say Duncil came to a Louisville house to seal the deal. Instead, he was arrested and charged with two felonies.

A member of the watchdog group Perverted Justice posed as the 13-year-old, finding it took just seconds for some men to start talking sex.

Jefferson County's sheriff even deputized a member of the group to enhance the penalties.

By the way, Steven Duncil has been suspended from his teaching duties with the Fleming County schools

The attorney general says in addition to the seven men arrested, there are 50 other open cases of men who solicited sex online but just didn't show up.
