Metro cop dragged by car
05:47 PM EST on Friday, December 9, 2005
A Louisville police officer is recovering after being dragged while making a traffic stop.
Court records show that the police officer stopped Brandon Gray at 3rd and Southern Parkway after noticing him driving recklessly. The officer instructed Gray to get out of the car, which he did. But shortly after, Gray apparently jumped back into the car and drove away.
The police officer was able to jump in the driver's seat before gray took off. The officer was dragged 500 feet with one of his legs hanging out of the car.
He was treated at University Hospital for hand and knee injuries.
Gray faces several charges, including wanton endangerment.
