(WHAS11) - A huge group of Louisville city employees are split on whether to accept or reject a pay cut as a way to help balance the city budget.

The fraternal order of police has already rejected the administration's call for shared sacrifice, including from police officers wallets, to help cover the city's $20-million budget shortfall.

Mayor Abramson is calling for shared sacrifice.  He and his top administrators have taken a 10-percent pay cut and Abramson tells WHAS11 news he has set a good example by drastically cutting his office's expenses.
