Indiana police officer arrested

12:03 AM EDT on Thursday, April 5, 2007

Indiana State Police say they arrested a Clarksville police officer for allegedly trying to sell morphine pills. It was part of a month-long investigation.

Investigators say 34-year-old Franklin Mikel of Sellersburg was trying to sell thirty pills to an undercover police officer at the Greentree Skate Land skating rink in Clarksville.

Mikel was not on duty at the time of the arrest.

He is being held in the Clark County Jail and will be arraigned Thursday morning.
