Drug bust in Pennsylvania takes over half-a-million dollars worth of meth off streets

04:40 PM EST on Saturday, November 22, 2008

Over half a million dollars worth of crystal meth is off the streets this morning, after a huge drug bust outside of Philadelphia.

Police in Pennsylvania arrested an electrician on meth-dealing charges.  They confiscated over $700,000 worth of meth and more than $100,000 in cash. Police believe he packaged the drug into DVD cases; a single case contained approximately $24,000 worth of meth.

Risa Vetri Ferman, Montgomery County District Attorney, said, “It kills people, so certainly we want to make sure to stop the use (and) stop the spread of the drug.”

Police believe David Brandon was the regional distribution point for a drug ring that spanned the entire country and originated in California.  At the time of his arrest, Brandon was out of jail on bail from another meth charge.  He is now being held on a $4 million bail.
