Games begin in Brazil Thursday when the host country's team takes on Croatia.
The tournament includes 32 countries and is played every four years.
Brazil goes in as the heavy favorite and is the only nation to appear in all 20 world cups.
As for the U.S. team, they arrived in Sao Paolo on Monday. Clint Dempsey, the team captain, said his guys are feeling good.
The United States plays its first match Monday against Ghana at 6 p.m.
