(NEWS RELEASE) -- The Louisville women's golf team finished sixth with a score of 915 in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The Cardinals shot a 317 in the final round to finish in the upper half of the tournament. Arizona won the tournament with a score of 875 and Ohio State finished second with a score of 900.
Sophomore Sara Karlsson is one of two Cardinals competing as an individual. Karlsson carded a 76 in the final round. She is finished tied at 12th with a score of 226, the top finisher for the Cardinals. Arizona’s Manon Gidali took medalist honors with a score of 213.
Sophomore Emily Haas finished 15th for the Cardinals. Haas shot an 80 in the final round to finish with a score of 227. Sophomore Katie Petrino shot a 74 in the final round. Petrino finished tied at 24th with a score of 231.
Senior Candice Wiley shot a 78 in the final round. Willey finished tied at 34th with a score of 233. Freshman Laura Restrepo finished tied at 42nd with a score of 236. Restrepo shot an 85 in the final round.
Freshman Meghan Theiss also competed as an individual. Theiss finished tied for 48th with a score of 238. Theiss carded an 81 in the final round.
Louisville will be back in action on March 29th as they travel to Greensboro, N.C. for the Bryan National Collegiate.
