(WHAS11) -- Big talk on Thursday about UofL Assistant Athletic Director Julie Hermann now taking the top job as A.D. at Rutgers a job that comes with some controversy.
Julie Hermann spent 16 years at Louisville and takes over at Rutgers after former Athletic Director Tom Pernetti resigned shortly after head basketball coach Mike Rice was fired for his actions towards players in practice.
Hermann was introduced on Wednesday at a news conference at Rutgers.
Hermann is becoming just the third female A.D. at a BCS school and she'll lead the Scarlet Knights from the Big East to the Big 10.
Over the years Hermann has stated she was not interested in being the head person in the athletic department.
