(ESPN.com) -- ESPN is reporting Charlie Strong is University of Tennessee's first choice to be their next head coach.

According to the cable sports network, multiple sources say Strong is the frontrunner for the job.

Strong, who has lead the University of Louisville to this year's Sugarbowl in New Orleans, has been the center of rumors about him leaving to go to another school at the end of the season for several months.

No deal is final, ESPN reports, and Louisville is expected to make a competitive offer for Strong to stay.
