On the eve of the Governor's Cup showdown, there are a lot of divided houses

On the eve of the big Governor’s Cup showdown, there are a lot of divided houses tonight.

We’re less than 19 hours away from kick-off between U of L and UK, and for some players, this game is about more than a rivalry.

Less than a day to go and the University of Kentucky is beefing-up security, asking fans to arrive early.  The game starts at noon and they are expecting 80,000 fans.

Last year when these two teams met, UK won 27-2.  The cats are looking to make it 3 in a row. The cards are looking to bring the Governor’s Cup back to The ‘Ville.

Both teams are 1-0 this season, both teams had last Saturday off, and both teams said they are anxious to get out there and play some football..

Well personally, I just want to go out successful against these guys. I want our guys to taste that victory and taste what it feels like to win in a rivalry like this, so I’m just doing everything I can to prepare my guys, prepare myself and prepare these guys to go out and have a great game,” said UL Wide Receiver, Scott Long.

And UK player, Ricky Lumpkin, said “This is our first home-game, this is our archrival; you can’t not be ready for this, you have to be excited for this.  This is what you live for.  This is Kentucky and Louisville.  You want to keep the Governors Cup here; you’re not going to overlook them and you’re not going to think negative about it.”
