- Looking to improve its position entering the upcoming 2012 BIG EAST Conference Championship, the Louisville women’s soccer team will close the regular season at home against rival Cincinnati on Friday at 7 p.m., ET at Cardinal Park.

Prior to kickoff in the finale, the Cardinals will honor its senior class of Emily Cardell, Courtney Holtz and Chloe Kiefer. Live scoring for the match will be available through the women’s soccer schedule page at UofLsports.com.

PARKING INFORMATION
Fans are encouraged to park in the Floyd Street Parking Garage directly across from Cardinal Park for $5 per car for Louisville women's soccer matches.

SERIES INFORMATION
Friday’s match will be the 28th all-time between Louisville and Cincinnati with the Bearcats holding a 17-9-1 advantage in the series. In the last meeting between the two programs in 2011, the Cardinals earned a 1-0 win in Cincinnati to clinch their first ever BIG EAST National Division title. Louisville has the last meetings and eight of the last nine overall.

ABOUT THIS WEEK’S OPPONENT
Cincinnati enters Friday’s match at 4-12-1 overall and 1-9-0 in BIG EAST play after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Seton Hall and a 5-0 loss at Rutgers last weekend. Friday’s game will be the season finale for the Bearcats, who have already been eliminated from contention for the 2012 BIG EAST Championship.

LAST TIME OUT FOR LOUISVILLE
Junior Charlyn Corral scored a pair of goals as Louisville earned its seventh shutout of the season with a 3-0 road victory over Seton Hall last Sunday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field. Defensively, senior goalkeeper Chloe Kiefer turned away four Seton Hall shots to earn her 17th career shutout, which places her in sole possession of second place on the Cardinals’ all-time list. Louisville had an 11-7 advantage in shots.

CARDINALS CLINCH BERTH IN 2012 BIG EAST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
With last Sunday’s victory at Seton Hall, the Cardinals clinched a berth in the 2012 BIG EAST Championship and moved into third place in the National Division standings with 1.50 points per game. With a win on Friday against Cincinnati, Louisville would clinch the No. 3 seed from the National Division and open the BIG EAST Championship at American Division No. 2 seed USF on Sunday, Oct. 28 in a quarterfinal matchup. With a loss to Cincinnati, the Cardinals could still finish as the No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5 seed from the National. Georgetown (No. 1 seed) and Notre Dame (No. 2) have already clinched the top two spots from the National, while Marquette (No. 1), USF (No. 2) and Syracuse (No. 3) have clinched the top three positions in the American.

LOUISVILLE IN THE NCAA STATISTICS
Following week nine of the regular season, U of L remains among the top 50 nationally in multiple categories in the NCAA statistical rankings. As a team, the Cards are ranked 46th nationally in scoring offense at 2.00 goals per game. Individually, junior Angelika Uremovich is ranked 49th in the nation in total goals with nine, while senior Chloe Kiefer is ranked 27th nationally in goalie minutes played with 1506:22.

CARDINALS AT NO. 42 IN FOURTH NCAA RPI RELEASE
The fourth set of 2012 NCAA women’s soccer RPI rankings were released on Monday evening and the Cardinals were positioned at No. 42 overall. Louisville is one of five BIG EAST Conference teams in the top 42 spots and among eight league squads in the top 96 positions. Leading the way is Georgetown at No. 20 followed by Notre Dame (No. 26), Marquette (No. 37), Rutgers (No. 38), Louisville (No. 42), USF (No. 54), Connecticut (No. 89) and Syracuse (No. 96).
