The University of Louisville women’s soccer team will travel to the Lone Star State for the first time since 2002 for a pair of games at Big XII foes Texas and Baylor.

The Cardinals will open the weekend in Austin against the Longhorns at 8 p.m. ET, and will conclude the weekend on Sunday in Waco at 2 p.m. ET against the Bears. Live video of Friday’s game at Texas will be streamed online free of charge through Texas Sports, while live scoring of both of Louisville’s games this weekend will be available through the Gametracker feature on the Cards’ schedule page at UofL Sports

Friday night’s game in Austin will be Louisville’s first game in the state of Texas since earning a 2-2 tie at former Conference USA opponent Houston on Sept. 22, 2002. Overall, the Cards are 0-2-1 in games played in the state of Texas, with all three coming in Houston against the Cougars.

The 2009 Louisville squad enters the weekend at 2-2 overall following a 2-0 win over Saint Louis on Sunday at Cardinal Park to clinch a second-place finish in the Courtyard by Marriott Airport Cardinal Classic. Junior Caitlin Rehder and sophomore Giselle Mangal finished with one goal and one assist each in the win over SLU.

Texas enters Friday night’s game at 1-3 overall following a 4-2 loss at No. 14 California on Sunday. The Longhorns have lost two straight games overall, including a 2-1 loss at St. Mary’s last Friday. This will be just the second meeting ever between the Longhorns and Cardinals, with UT holding a 1-0 advantage after earning a 1-0 overtime win in Louisville last season.

Baylor enters the weekend at 3-0-2 overall after earning a pair of wins last week at Louisiana-Lafayette (3-1) and McNeese State (4-0). The Bears also have a win over Lamar (3-0) to go along with a pair of ties against Rice (1-1) and North Dakota State (0-0). Sunday’s game will be the first ever meeting between the Cardinals and Bears.

Following this weekend’s games in Texas, Louisville will continue its four-game road stretch and open BIG EAST Conference play at Cincinnati on Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
