The start of basketball practice is right around the corner for the Louisville Cardinals and Coach Rick Pitino will have to replace several key members off last season’s squad.

The Cards are going through individual instructions right now. Our cameras were allowed in to watch coach and the players at work.

Gone are Terrence Williams and Earl Clark to the NBA and André McGee and Will Scott to graduation. Coach Pitino doesn't think there will be a problem replacing their leadership.

“Leadership is not only leading by saying the right things. But these guys have paid the price. Jerry's come in here every year 12-15 pounds overweight.

He's always had slow starts because it takes him a while to get that weight off. He's come in 191 pounds, that's where he ends every year.

He normally comes in 212-213. Edgar has worked harder this summer and spring than any player I've ever coached/ They both have paid the price. Everybody has watched them pay the price.

They're stepping up as good leaders," said Pitino.
