The game was a lot closer than anyone expected it to be but Kentucky got the Governor's Cup and bragging rights for the 3rd straight year.
It was a tough loss for the Cards.
The Cards have a big game this Saturday on the road in Utah but they're still wondering what could have been this past Saturday down in Lexington.
Louisville had the lead in midway through the 4th quarter on Justin Burke's 66 yard touchdown strike to Trent Guy but they let it slip away late.
Now they're trying to focus on Saturday’s game against the Utes but Coach Steve Kragthorpe admits it's a challenge forgetting this past weekend.
“Trying to move on is hard to do it because it was a game that i felt like we had chances to win.
That we were in from start to finish and a game that our guys. For me, I wanted to win that game for our guys. I really wanted our guys to experience holding the Governor's Cup again. Again disappointed we didn't get it done. But again very proud of the way our guys played,” said Coach K.
Coach Kragthorpe is now 0-3 against Kentucky but one thing he talked about was how proud he was at the way his team laid it all on the line in Lexington.
