LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – After a dominating season opening win against Ohio, the Louisville Cardinals are moving up in the polls.

The new Associated Press poll out today ranks the cards at number 8 in the country, up one spot from last week.

Charlie Strong’s message is simple – no let downs and no setbacks.

This week as the Cards prepare for Eastern Kentucky University, Strong wants his team to just worry about themselves block out the polls, block out the praise from outside sources and don’t fall into the trap.

Strong understands eventually these kids will listen, at least a little bit because it’s human nature. Teddy Bridgewater is a model player when it comes to blocking out the noise.

He simply has ignored the Heisman talk and just wants to be another guy on the team, clearly it’s working.
