University of Louisville cornerback Adrian Bushell (DeSoto, Texas) was recognized by the Scholar-Baller program as one of 63 student-athletes to receive an Academic Momentum Award, which honors academic improvement.

Bushell, an Administration of Justice major, graduated from Louisville in December after transferring from Florida in 2010.

The product of DeSoto, Texas, earned the award because of the amount of credit hours he took over the last two years so that he could earn his degree upon completion of his athletic eligibility.

A two-year starter for the Cardinals, Bushell was a two-time first team All-BIG EAST performer. This past season, Bushell was fourth on the squad with 62 tackles and recorded a team-high 13 pass break-ups.

Bushell earned another prominent award when he was invited to participate in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.
