he University of Louisville Athletic Department has declared a Black Out for the 2009 BIG EAST football nationally-televised league opener versus Pittsburgh on Friday, Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m. EST at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game against the pre-season favorite to win the BIG EAST Conference. Fans should visit any area retail locations selling U of L merchandise for special black out gear, including The Cardinal Store, located across from Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, who will have their version of the "Blackout" shirts. There are less than 1,000 tickets remaining to the Cardinals' BIG EAST opener against the Panthers. The U of L ticket office is open M-F from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 502-361-3100.
