LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- I don't usually put much stock in a scrimmage. Especially one that takes place just after five practices into the season. That being said, I thought the Cards looked really good on Saturday at the KFC Yum Center.
It would be easy to talk about the complete game of Russ Smith or how both the Cards power forwards Chane Behanan and Montrezl Harrell played. I'm going to talk about the play of freshman Terry Rozier. I've seen Rozier play in games like the Derby Classic and a high school showcase, but I've never put much stock in those games.
Rozier played on the White team today and was matched up against Russ and Chris Jones. He played point guard and led his team. When it was time to play with pace, he did. When it was time to throw the lob, he did. When it was time to push tempo, he pushed. When it was time to create his own offense, yep he created.
The first scrimmage isn't about numbers, it's about a feeling you get when you leave the arena. Terry Rozier put a lot of smiles on faces when they left on Saturday.
