LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- In Lexington, the UK football team hosted media day Friday morning. And the Wildcats are very hungry to improve on last year's two-and-ten record.

Despite the team's struggles on the field, there's a lot of momentum right now for the Wildcats.

Recruiting is going very well and facilities are getting a much-needed facelift.

But now, it's time for those positive vibes to translate into wins on game day.

"It's always important on the results side. We are always trying to build our program, but the bottom line is winning and losing games. We want to win games. It's extremely important for a lot of reasons. We have a lot of great momentum here in football right now, and we need to keep that," Mark Stoops, UK head football coach, said.

The Cats open the season against Tennessee-Martin on Aug. 30.
