LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11)—While the Wildcats are taking a break from playing international competition in the Bahamas before classes start, an announcement was made on Wednesday about the annual alumni charity game.

UK announced on Wednesday that they have decided to cancel the alumni charity game that was scheduled for Aug. 24, just two days before classes on the campus are set to begin.

The reason for the cancelation is the lack of players available for the game. Former Cats Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are busy with Team USA ahead of the FIBA World Cup. Washington Wizards star John Wall has already committed to a function in China.

The school also took into consideration what happened to Pacers player Paul George and players uneasiness after the leg injury during a Team USA showcase.

Those who have already purchased tickets will get a full refund.
