(WHAS11) -- The Southeastern Conference handed out postseason awards Tuesday and Kentucky's Nerlens Noel did very well.
Noel was named SEC Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year. He was also named First Team All-SEC.
Despite going down with a knee injury Noel blocked 106 shots in just 24 games.
Noel was joined by fellow freshman Willie Cauley-Stein, Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress on the conferences all freshman team.
Kyle Wiljter was named the SEC's 6th man of the year.
