LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Twice a year, friends and houses divide.

"Divided right down the middle!" said one Kentucky fan. His wife is a huge Cardinal fan.

There's nothing quite like the rivalry between UK and UofL.

Die hard fans allegiance to their teams was in full swing Sunday for the Governor's Cup rivalry game.

Louisville was a sea of red with a few Cats fans braving the crowds.

"We are kind of staying quiet. Louisville fans are great so there won't be any problems," said one brave UK fan.

A few odd couples made appearances at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Cafe.

"We are happy except during basketball season and football season. Two times a year we have problems," said one married couple.

One thing these passionate fans agree on is loyalty for their team.
