LEXINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11)—The University of Kentucky men’s basketball program is preparing for six games in the Bahamas, but announced on Friday that some ticket books were stolen.
Three hundred ticket booklets are their Big Blue Bahamas tour were stolen while in transit to the island. They booklets are numbered 1201 through 1500 and are now invalid for entry into the exhibition games that will start on Sunday.
The team encourages fans to be vigilant in purchasing tickets in the Bahamas. Staff at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium have been informed of the stolen tickets and will not allow entry to anyone attempting to use tickets flagged as stolen.
Those fans attending and having already purchased tickets will not be affected. UK Athletics officials ordered more booklets than have been pre-purchased, so all purchases will be honored.
UK begins their international trip on Aug. 10 when they face the Puerto Rick national team reserves, Champagne Chalons-Reims Basket and the Dominican Republic national team twice each during their week of games.
The first three days will air on ESPNU while the remaining three will air on the new SEC Network.
