DELARD, Fla. (AP) — Jake Giesler's tip-in with 3 seconds left in overtime lifted Northern Kentucky to a 67-65 win over Stetson Wednesday night.
Anthony Monaco's steal with 9 seconds left set up the final sequence, with Tyler White launching a 3-point attempt that Giesler cleaned up. The Norse (5-5, 1-1 Atlantic Sun) then survived a long heave by the Hatters (3-11, 1-1) at the buzzer.
After Stetson's Willie Green tied the game with 1:33 left, both teams had two opportunities to take the lead. It was a similar situation at the end of regulation after Raymone Andrews of Stetson hit a 3 to tie it at 58 with 1:01 to go.
Jordan Jackson topped Northern Kentucky with 13 points, Jalen Billups and White had 12 each.
Kentwan Smith and Green had 16 apiece for the Hatters with Brian Pegg adding 12. Stetson was hurt by going 12 of 21 from the foul line.
