HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) — Eshaunte Jones posted 25 points to help Northern Kentucky beat Atlantic Sun Conference-foe Kennesaw State 64-53 and win its second straight game.
Tyler White came off the bench for 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range. Chad Jackson chipped in 10 points to go with eight boards and Ernest Watson pulled down 12 rebounds.
Northern Kentucky (6-11, 4-5) controlled the paint, holding a 37-28 rebounding advantage and outscoring Kennesaw State 24-20 inside.
The Norse shot 44.8 percent (13 of 29) in the first half for a 31-20 halftime lead. Kennesaw State, led by Aaron Anderson's 14 points and 10 rebounds, shot 33.3 percent (8 of 24) in the opening frame.
Kennesaw State (2-19, 1-8), who were without all-time leading scorer Markeith Cummings, trimmed the deficit to 44-41 with 6:05 remaining but never got any closer than three the rest of the way.
