LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — University of Kentucky coach John Calipari said that the Wildcats will host an alumni game next month that will feature some of the university's former players who are now playing in the NBA.
Calipari announced the Sept. 15 game to be held at Rupp Arena during a visit Friday to West Liberty, a Kentucky town devastated by a tornado last March. Proceeds from the game will go to support charity, including the tornado recovery.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported (http://bit.ly/RqFlUh ) that Calipari said during a radio interview on Kentucky Sports Radio that he also hoping to bring back the 1996 national championship team as part of the game.
He said details, including ticket information, will be announced in the coming weeks.
