LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Rupp Arena is adding more seats for fans who use wheelchairs in the upper levels of the arena starting next season.
Lexington Center Corp. announced Thursday that about $200,000 is being budgeted for the renovation to add about 100 wheelchair-accessible seats in eight upper arena rows.
The Lexington Herald-Courier reports the additional seats allow Rupp Arena to remain in compliance with updates to the Americans With Disabilities Act. The University of Kentucky said they will work with those season-ticket holders whose seats are affected by the construction.
