UofL's Bailey named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville junior defensive tackle Drew Bailey was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Starting his fifth game of the season, Bailey had his best collegiate contest, totaling a career-best 11 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss in the 24-14 win over Duke on Friday night.  It was the most tackles in a game by a UofL defensive lineman since Elvis Dumervil recorded the same total against Kentucky in 2005.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Bailey, who has played in all six games, has totaled a career-best 26 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss as the Cardinals rank 11th in the nation in total defense.

The Cardinals remain home Saturday to face NC State in a noon game that will be televised on ABC.
