Muhammad Ali's ex-wife says 49ers' Kaepernick should apologize

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – As controversy continues in San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s National Anthem protest, an unlikely voice is calling for him to apologize.

Muhammad Ali’s ex-wife Khalilah Camacho-Ali says it’s time for Kaepernick to “get off his high horse and humble himself.”

Camacho-Ali spoke with TMZ Sports and said in part:

“The first thing I would do is asking him about his stance on humanity, what exactly is he trying to improve and how is he going to make that happen? Next I’d have him make a retraction for his actions against the American flag. He needs to apologize.”

She says she would love to talk with Kaepernic and discuss better ways to share his message.

Camacho-Ali was Muhammad Ali’s second wife and was married to him from 1967 to 1976.
