LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It's the start of a week that you could call a holiday week for college football fans in this area.

That's because Louisville and Kentucky fans get to look forward to Saturday’s noon football game all week long.

The tone so far on both sides so far is very civil and one of respect.

Both sides definitely saying all the right things so far but you get the sense both head coaches are ready for this game to take an even bigger stage – one on the national scale.

This game has been very streaky the last 10 years. The Cards come into Saturday with a two game winning streak and before that, Kentucky won four in a row and before that Louisville captured four in a row.

For this game to reach its full potential, both teams need to be good at the same time.  Both acknowledge this isn't just another game.

It'll be interesting to see if both sides remain cordial throughout the week, we know the fan bases won't.
