(WHAS11) - October’s Republic Bank Athletes of the Month are Whitney Reed and Adam Troutman. At Holy Cross, Troutman is a two-sport athlete. Last summer he played in both the junior baseball and basketball all-star games.
And he’s currently working on a book drive for a local elementary school. “We’re doing it for King Elementary School which is a underprivileged elementary school we think it’s going to be a success. We’re hoping to have a couple book drives in the basketball games.
Maybe a football and we we’re going to try to help out as much as we can” Troutman says. Our female athlete of the Month plays basketball and track for Butler. Reed is also the volleyball team manager and a class officer. In the classroom, Reed has a full schedule of honors and advanced classes.
Plus, she has big plans for her future, “I want to play basketball in college. Then I want to get into special education and teaching and afterwards coach and maybe a greater level WBA, college or what not.”

We have a new male and female winner every month. Be sure to get your nominations in so your choice can be named Athlete of the Month.
