New Washington, Ind. (PRESS RELEASE) – Greater Clark County Schools is pleased to announce that the New Washington High School cheerleading squad captured the 1A State Championship title on Saturday, Nov. 5, their third title in four years. The squad was also the recipient of the Spirit/Sportsmanship Award, an award given to one team across all class levels (1A through 4A).

Cheerleading squad members include Tiffanie Brison, Heather Crews, Tobi Ferree, Isabella Glover, Ashley Johnson, Shellbie Johnson, Amanda Kemp, Rachel Meek, Morgan Miller, and Kayla Schlise. The squad is coached by Emily Oliver-Jones.

The competition was hosted by the Indiana Association of School Principals at New Castle High School in New Castle, Ind. Thirty-nine cheerleading squads from across Indiana competed for the title of State Champion in their respective class level.
