JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11)- Jeffersonville High School will play their first football game of the season without their head coach. The superintendent has suspended Coach Larry Oldham one game for violating school and state rules.
The school district says Coach Oldham allowed three varsity team members to play in last week’s scrimmage although they were academically ineligible. Students we talked to thought it was wrong to break the rules but did not want the coach suspended.
Jeffersonville High School noticed the violation on Monday and reported it to the Indiana High School Athletic Association that same day. The ISHA issued the school a warning, but also commended them for taking action so quickly.
