Jackson's praise continues despite Clemson loss

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Days after Louisville’s loss against a tough Clemson team, people are still talking about that match.

Despite that loss, quarterback Lamar Jackson is still the heavy favorite to win the Heisman trophy.

Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables said Jackson was a big challenge he’s ever faced adding that Jackson is everything he’s been built up to be and that kid has the world in front of him.

Petrino echoed similar words after the game.

“He’s a great competitor – he did everything he possibly could to win that game. [He] made some great plays for us. It’s a shame we came up a yard short. I thought he really did a great job leading and competing and I thought it elevated the players around him,” Coach Bobby Petrino said.

U of L has a week off but will face Duke at home on Oct. 14.
